Hello, everybody. We sincerely thank you for purchasing this February issue of CNN English Express. To start, we'd like to introduce our celebrity of the month. For February, we've chosen Paris Hilton, one of the most visible--and controversial--young women of her generation. Paris Hilton was born on February 17th, 1981, which means this year she turns 27. She is the oldest of four children born as heirs to the fabulously wealthy Hilton Hotel legacy. She began modeling as a child, with her famous name and fantastic looks quickly propelling her to ever more high-profile jobs. Her wealth and connections also brought her the exposure that shot her into the limelight as one of America's youngest socialites. More about Paris later. First, time now for this month's lesson.

OK, that's about it for this month's lesson. Now let's return to our story on Paris Hilton. Paris became famous among the American public when she costarred with Nicole Richie in the Fox reality series The Simple Life. She also guest-starred in a number of other TV shows. Meanwhile, she also began pursuing a career in films, although mostly minor and supporting roles. In 2004, she released an autobiographical book called "Confessions of an Heiress." Although panned as amateurish, the book made the New York Times bestseller list. In 2006, Paris added "singer" to her list of professional attributes with the release of her first album, which did moderately well on the charts. In recent years, Paris has added a bit of infamy to her name with a series of drunk-driving incidents. And of course, her random romantic involvements remain juicy topics for the tabloids. But that's about all we have time for. See you again next month!

Hi everyone. We thank you for buying the January issue of CNN English Express. For this first issue of 2008, we'd like to introduce one of today's most popular Hollywood celebrities born in the month of January: Nicolas Cage. Nicolas Cage was born on January 7th, 1964, so this year he turns 44. His birth name was Nicholas Kim Coppola, a surname that will surely ring bells among you movie fans. Cage is actually the nephew of the stellar film director, Francis Ford Coppola, but early on in his acting career, he changed his name from Coppola in order to avoid any potential allegations of nepotism. Cage's first film role was in Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1982, in which he had a minor role opposite Sean Penn. Since then, he's appeared in numerous films, from mainstream to offbeat. We'll pick up from here later. First now, it's time for this month's lesson. So off we go.

OK, that brings us to the end of this month's lesson. Now it's time to return to the story of our celebrity of the month, Nicolas Cage. After his debut, Cage continued to win roles in a number of films that did well at the box office, including Moonstruck, The Rock and Face/Off. Cage finally received the recognition any Hollywood actor would long for in 1995, when he won an Academy Award for his performance in Leaving Las Vegas. In his private life, Cage has been a frequent feature of the gossip pages. He's been married three times, including a highly publicized marriage with Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis, in 2002; the marriage lasted all of four months. In recent years, besides acting, Cage has branched out, with notable success, into directing and producing. And that's all we have time for. See you again next month!
